As part of the Czech TOP 100 ranking, awards are traditionally given for the best annual reports and magazines. This year, the TPA Special Award for the non-profit sector for the annual report was awarded to the non-profit organization DEJME DĚTEM ŠANCI o.p.s., which helps children and young adolescents from children’s homes to enter more easily into everyday life. The awards ceremony took place on 30 March 2022 at the Andaz Hotel.
“Going through the annual report of DEJME DĚTEM ŠANCI, I realized how fortunate people are who grew up in functional families. Growing up and shaping one’s personality in a supportive and nurturing environment is something which most of us take for granted. At the same time, I thought about how rewarding it is that a group of people are trying to help children who have not been so fortunate. Not only materially, but also by giving children the feeling that someone is thinking of them and cares about their fate. I also very much appreciate the fact that the help is not just for children, but continues even when they enter adult life. The annual report contains not only the necessary factual information and requirements, but also a description of individual projects and specific stories of people who have been helped by DEJME DĚTEM ŠANCI,” said Markéta Schück, TPA partner who led the evaluation of the annual reports.
The award itself was then presented by Radek Stein, TPA partner.
“We greatly appreciate the award and would like to thank TPA for it. In our annual report, we not only focus on all the essentials, but we try to highlight our work and the specific stories of the children we help to enter independent life after leaving the orphanage,” said Sarah Christensen, from the company that accepted the award.
The common benefit organisation DEJME DĚTEM DĚTEM ŠANCI provides comprehensive assistance to children and young people growing up in orphanages across the country. It has been helping them to integrate into society more easily since 2011. The organization is looking for supporters who can choose which specific child from the orphanage they would like to support, either financially or humanly. Supporters can, for example, save a certain amount of money for the child during his or her stay in the orphanage, contribute to the child’s studies or provide host care and thus be in close contact with the child during the holidays. DEJME DĚTEM ŠANCI o.p.s. cooperates with 45 children’s homes in all regions of the Czech Republic. During its activity, the company has supported more than 4,000 children with an amount exceeding CZK 51 million.
